Drupal Backend is Awful!
I recently purchased two Drupal based websites. One of them is Pet Search Engine and is a real fix me upper.
As I went in the back end and was attempting to make changes, I was completely unimpressed with how the system works. It almost feels like they’re trying to do too much and leaves the administrator completely confused. I tinkered around for several hours and am still finding things.
The navigational system in there is bad also. In fact, I am so displeased with it, I am leaning towards scrapping the entire site and starting fresh with a Wordpress based site.

I admit drupal has some complications for most things which Wordpress does simple.
Wordpress makes it simple to make and categorize content – something tricky(at first) in drupal because there are so many different ways you can categorize in drupal.
The place where drupal shines is if you have many users all making content. The backend area is only the top most level administration, but Drupal sites can and have for years been able to have user editable areas, either for authorized users only, for everyone, or for only 1 user personally and they don’t access the backend to do it, they use the front area that you build to your liking.
Plus with wordpress’ sidebar widgets, its barely added the functionality in one area which drupal has had for years in unlimited areas. The functionality of drupals custom blocks in sidebars, footers, callouts per-page, per-category, or per user is way beyond wordpress.

Drupal is a community-system. Same as it is stupid to run a mediaWiki for your webshop, a classic editor-powered site will be best off with a wordpress, Joomla! or texpattern.
Drupal never had a real backend, and therefore probably never will. Thus it will be a really turn-down when you come from classical backend-driven sites.
In those cases I’d say: either change your way-of-doing things and make your sites truly UGC, or else use a better tool for your job.
